CAN YOU SEA IT?
“CAN YOU SEA IT?” is designed for students in grades 5-6 (can be adapted to grades 2-8). In this program students investigate several modules designed to help them become aware of the rich and diverse natural history of the Northern California coastal environment. Students get exposed to the amazing world of life in a tide pool in the module “Explore A Tide Pool.” In “Blubber, Flippers, and Blowholes,” students learn about the special designs and biology of marine mammals. Marine algae, its identification and uses, is the focus of “Seaweed Ice Cream.” “Giants and Pygmies” introduces students to the common trees and shrubs of the temperate rainforest. Other modules include “You Have No Backbone,“ “Beaks, Feet, and Feathers,” and “Slime, Scales, and Fins.”
